Here's an article on an outbreak of polio in the Congo Republic (the smaller Congo). What struck me most was that they think they could eradicate polio worldwide with only $800 million. I liked it that there are potential rewards to changing diapers.
That is really amazing in the since that we have a chance to take this out of the world and all we need is just a little more funding. 800 million may seem like a lot of money, but in long term it is worth it.
ReplyDeleteWow its mind blowing that it only takes a few million bucks to solve this horrible problem. The cost to fix this outbreak is probably the cost of one super bowl television commercial in the U.S.
